You won't believe this, but...

On Wednesday, I posted this about the good news for Anna.

Did you catch the part about how I hadn't talked to Jim (or, rather, he hadn't talked to me...) since I'd left?

How it hurt my feelings?

How I understood, but was secretly still pissed as fuck that he was being a baby?

No?

Oh, yeah, I didn't mention that part.

Sorry.

Anyway, I went to meet Anna and the girls for a lunch at one of our favorite delis in the city. I was running a few minutes late, so when I got there, I was looking around to figure out where in the hell they were.

Aside, here - you would think that in a place that seats MAYBE thirty people, I would be able to spot a group of five pretty quickly! If it is noon on Wednesday, you'd be wrong!

I finally saw the group, but it was Jim that I spotted!! He came with them! Which is interesting for more than the fact that the bastard hasn't spoken to me in four months - he's vegan.

In a deli.

And by 'vegan', I mean, MILITANTLY vegan. I don't mean that he would lecture us on our dietary choices, he's not that big an asshat. However, for example, there was an afternoon where we were going to order lunch from an Italian place and have him go pick it up for us. He refused on the grounds that he would not carry animal products in his car and one of the staff had ordered lasagna.

I shit you not, that really happened.

So, I felt immensely pleased that he had deigned to appear in a place that sold meat and cheese almost exclusively.

It was wonderful to see everyone. And, it was like nothing had changed. Just as if we were out for a regular lunch in the middle of the week. Everyone filled me in on what was going on in their respective departments, asked me how to fix things, asked if I knew where shit was, that kind of thing.

I really wish I had the capability to start my own business. I would take everyone who was at lunch with me yesterday. I mean, I had finance and analysts, education and sales, marketing and IT, and all of them are people who work hard and who I adore.

Of course, I have no idea what we would do.
None.

Porn, probably. We're just that kind of group. Of course, none of us would be IN porn.

Maybe I should come up with something else.

Something with alcohol.
And candy.
Or food.

mmmmmm.... food.
